"Friendly staff, Great food, Excellent service" My husband
and I had a great experience staying at the Hibiscus Beach Hotel.
The entire staff was so friendly and very helpful. In particular,
John DeRosa, Director of Operations. He made sure our stay was
perfect. Our room was perfect, facing the ocean. The weather was
perfect every day. The restaurant H20 has an excellent menu, the
food was great. Our overall experience was excellent. We would
definately visit St Croix again and stay at the Hibiscus Beach
Hotel.

"Pleasantly Suprised!" I have to say, I was a bit nervous
making my reservation at Hibiscus Beach Resort. I am an avid Trip
Advisor Reader and after viewing the comments from a guest in
Indianappolis on here I was concerned it was going to be a nightmare.
It was not! Im glad I made my choice to stay in Hibiscus. The
island itself is unlike the other US Virgin Islands. St. Croix
has a charm all of its own. A relaxed comfortable beach, great
tours, pleasant low key shopping villages & some really great
restaurants. Especially H20 A Caribbean Bistro the hotel restaurant.
We had a phenominal dinner like three times. The service was excellent,
very friendly and accommodating. I had special dietary needs and
they were more than happy to oblige. Management was ever constantly
floating the floor. The owner Dan was present every evening to
say hello. It was a very welcoming expereince.
Oh by the way you have to have the Crabcakes & Caribbean Black
Jack Pasta. SOOOOO good. The hotel was different from what we
normally stay in. We usually do a Westin or Radisson or a bigger
chain property. St. Croix does not have that. Hibiscus
has all the charm of the big hotels without the attitude.
Personable front desk staff,
who went out of there way
to direct us, housekeeping that is as cute as a button. Even the
Maintenance guy there Jorge climbed a tree and cut a coconut for
us. A pleasant young man John greeted us every morning in the
restaurant and on his travels throughout the property. We werent
sure who he was the first two days but he was always so friendly.
We came to find out he was the hotel manager. It was service and
smiles like that, that sold us on Hibiscus Beach Resort. The beach,
the island, the people all treated us like gold. We will be back.
All the best for continued success!!

Dear John, Joe & Dan,
We have only been back home for a short time and already miss
the Hibiscus! First, I just wanted to congratulate you on the
purchase of the Hibiscus. Both Steve & I are thrilled that
someone has taken over who cares about the beach resort as much
as we do. You all have put a lot of obvious hard work into sprucing
up the place and your efforts are very noticeable. The restaurant
was fabulous from the new paint and the "gingerbread"
to the service and the food. The Hibiscus has never looked better!
We are looking forward to seeing what you have in store for the
rooms. I would request that you install hooks someplace either
in the rooms or outside. There was no place to hang our wet suits
to dry. In our opinion, the Hibiscus is the very BEST place to
stay on the island. I only hope that you will always have a room
for us when we come to visit. In conclusion, we want to thank
you for the care and committment that you are giving to the Hibiscus.
I have not stopped thinking about our vacation. Despite the fact
that the weather is getting warmer here in Pennsylvania, the sun
will never feel quite as wonderful as when we are in St. Croix
and the view will never be as beautiful as the view from room
#8. Continued success!!!!

My husband and I honeymooned in St. Croix in Feb., 2004. We
had labored over where to stay, we didn't want a big resort but
something more private. We finally decided on the Hibiscus Beach
Hotel after the place we had first chosen was booked. Later we
read some of the negative reviews and hoped that we had not made
a mistake. We had not. It was dark when we arrived, so we didn't
get the full effect of the view from our room until the next morning.
What a way to wake up! The sun was shining, the waves crashed
against the shore, dozens of palm trees peppered the yard of sand.
We were a mere stone's throw from the water. The view was breathtaking. The
room itself was nothing fantastic, but was certainly satisfactory.
There were high white ceilings with fans, plenty of space, and
a breezy decor. The bathrooms were shower only. The view from
our private bacony made up for anything the room may have lacked.
The grounds were also very lush and beautiful. We also read some
bad reviews of the restaurant and figured we probably wouldn't
eat there much. But as it turned out, the restaurant is under
new ownership, the name has changed to H2O, and the food is fantastic.
We ended up eating there quite a bit. It was one of our two favorites.
The decor was fun, the staff was pleasant. My favorite dishes
were the crab cakes and the coconut shrimp. My husband preferred
the filet. We had rum soaked french toast for breakfast one day.
It was very good, too. We didn't eat anything there that we did
not like. The only inconvience we found was, since we decided not
to rent a car, we did have to taxi anywhere we went as the Hibiscus
is outside of Christiansted. But it was so easy to get a taxi,
the front desk would call and arrange it for you, and they always
arrived within 5 minutes. It was also very easy to get a taxi
back from Christiansted. They are everywhere just waiting for
you to be ready to go. You just tell them "Hibiscus",
and they know right where to go.A couple of other notes, not about
the hotel, but the island-We loved Christiansted but found Fredricksted
to be a bit of a waste of our time. The one night we went, we
thought we would never get a cab back. At that point we were glad
the cottages we had originally chosen were unavailable. While
there we ate at the Blue Moon which was pretty good.Back in Christiansted,
we thoroughly enjoyed Big Beard's sail to Buck Island. In fact,
we did it twice. We also loved the restaurant Rumrunners on the
boardwalk. We would recommend a tour of Saint George's Botanical
Gardens, as well. We highly recommend St. Croix, the Hibiscus
Beach Hotel, and the H2O restaurant. We loved it!

I stayed
here from Feb 9th 2004 thru Feb 12 2004. It was a small beach
from what I am used to Ocean City Maryland/Virginia Beach, but
it was very nice. It was not crowded at all. I stayed in room
# 2 with was one of the closest to the water. Rooms 1,2,3 were
are the closest. The beach did have a lot of seaweed, but I was
told that this is typical for this side of the island. They did
clean it up everyday. The reasturant was very good. Well atleast
the dinners were. I never seen breakfst and lunch since I was
always working. The people were all nice and helped out any way
they could. The rooms were clean and seemed pretty nice to me.

"My wife, 10-month-old daughter and I had a
very pleasant stay at Hibiscus. If you're looking for a no-frills
getaway to an uncrowded, idyllic, small Carribbean beach, the
Hibiscus is an extremely good value. If you're looking for lavish
rooms, a pampering staff and gourmet food this is not the place.
The rooms are comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful.
(They hooked us up with an excellent nanny and driver, who chauffered
us around the island and watched after our little girl while we
snorkeled and explored the island's numerous beaches.) The food
is good - especially on nights they grill locally caught fish.
The rum punch is outstanding. If the Hibiscus food is not to your
liking, the Cormorant Hotel (50 yards away) has an excellent kitchen
and bar. (Fair warning: The Cormorand caters to gay couples, male
and female. If this bothers you, please don't bother them. The
staff and guests of The Cormorant were extremely gracious to my
family whenever we dropped in for lunch or dinner - even though
it is not a family hotel.)The beach is a beautiful crescent of
white sand kissing clear, azure water. But don't swim here. A
violent undertow in windy weather and a strong one even on calm
days is bad news for weak swimmers. However, a mere 50 yards down
the beach (to the right if you're facing the ocean), the water
is as calm as a bath and nearby reefs are teeming with wildlife.
While snorkeling here, we saw several flounder, grouper, parrot
fish, clownfish, eels, barracuda, dogfish and angelfish. The best
snorkeling, however, is on Buck Island which is a must see and
do on St. Croix. That's it. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as
we did."

Letter
sent to Hibiscus Staff:
Dear Dan, John & Gang,
I want to write you a thank you letter to express my appreciation
of offering me the time at Hibiscus Beach Resort for my vacation.
What a great time I had. Dan, you have created yet another
success and I am glad to have participated in it. Happy six-month
anniversary! Although it was raining half the time, I still
had a wonderful time meeting all of you at H20. |
Hanging
out was a blast; you made me feel like part of the crew.
My room at Hibiscus was the spectacular Room #4. The view
is breathtaking while in bed looking out the porch and seeing
the entire blue ocean and Buck Island. The sound of the waves
and warm breeze made me sleep like a charm.John, you make
Hibiscus and H20 a happen’n place! Keep up the great
work! You give 150% and it shows tremendously. Yes, I give
credit to Louie, too (the dog). And of course recognition
to the entire crew at H20. Outstanding service!Again, thanks,
and I will see you all in the near future…in sunny
St. Croix!

Comment to AA Vacations
Sir or Madam:
I am writing to you to let you hear of "TWO VERY SATISFIED
CUSTOMERS". We called AA Vacations and let them choose
an All Inclusive Beach Resort on the island of St. Croix,
USVI. We completely let AA choose our spot and upon your
recommendation we could not have choosen better ourselves.
I would recommend the Hibiscus Beach Resort to anyone who
wants great service, clean rooms and grounds and fabulous
food. It is located at a beautiful beachfront area and not
too busy. Mr. Daniel Giannini and his very able staff saw
to our every need. We had a wonderful time and would very,
very highly refer this resort for your St. Croix requests.
You cannot go wrong here.
Again, "Thank You AA" and "Special Thanks
to Mr. Giannini and his Staff."
Very Truly Yours,
W alter & Barbara Loehnert, Fallsbrook, California

" This was one of the most beautiful places to dine
in! The slipcovers on the chairs were such a sweet touch
and the colors were so vibrant-but still relaxing. You've
really managed to capture the essence of the island! Food
was outstanding - service was great. Thanks so much! "
